About Jerry RovnerSBA NAMES JERRY ROVNER | ||

Following the events of September 11, 2001, Jerry Rovner launched a management consulting practice that focuses in the area of strategic planning, operations, and human resources management for small to mid-size businesses. His engagements have included the restructuring of small firms, profitability analysis, and business coaching for startups and established businesses, and the realignment of company strategy, tactics and goals.
Prior to starting with Rapid Response, he was an executive for several companies that capitalized on his expertise in operations, logistics, sales, and human resource management. As the Chief Operating Officer for Rail Head CFS, and RHP Transportation he was responsible for this multi million dollar warehousing, U. S. Customs examination and CFS site with four facilities located on the East Coast. As the Director of Intermodal Operations for Ameriport, Jerry managed this start-up transportation company that integrated rail, sea and trucking operations, which moved over 50,000 containers annually. For Fedders Corporation, he was the Vice President/Director of Marketing for this leading air conditioner manufacturer, and he managed a staff of 200 with a budget of over $30 million annually. In his early career, he was the Manager of National Distribution for L’Oreal/Lancome, and manager of warehouse logistics for Squibb. Before entering the business world, Jerry served on active duty in the United States Navy as a Deep Sea Diving and Salvage officer. After completing Officer Candidate School, Jerry was selected for and received diving training in Washington, D.C. Upon completing this course, he reported to the USS Ortolan (ASR-22) as the Deep Submergence Officer, where he was responsible for submarine rescue operations. He holds certifications as a Saturation Deep-Sea Diver, a Surface Warfare Officer, and a Special Operations Officer. After leaving active duty, Jerry remained active with the Naval Reserves, serving in several positions for 24 years, and in his final unit, was the Commanding Officer of Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit Two. In 1994 he lead the first joint operation with reserve diving units out of county to Panama to document the underwater condition of the Panama Canal before its turnover to the country of Panama. Jerry retired from the Naval Reserves, and in the fall 2000, he volunteered to help form the New Jersey Naval Militia, where he is currently the deputy commander. Jerry graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in both Business Administration and American History. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University in California. Jerry also serves as a member of Board of Trustees Princeton Child Development Institute, Princeton, NJ for Autism, and as the Race Director for the International Submarine Races, and is on the board of Directors for the Foundation for Underwater Research & Education. (All non-profit organization). He is a recipient of the Legion of Honor award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, the Navy League, and the Naval Militia Associations of both New Jersey & New York. Jerry has been elected as a city councilman for the city of Allentown, New Jersey, served for eleven years and was then appointed to the position of Police Commissioner. He again became a City Councilman in 2003. He is a certified New Jersey Court Mediator, and has served on the local Planning and Zoning board.
